Kris and Noah, head to head

On Wednesday Amy and I left Tom and the grinder working away and went out to watch and support Kris Freeman and Noah Hoffman in a 15K classic time trial. Kris normally trains on Swenor skis, and Noah usually trains on Marwes, so we put them both on matched V2 910s for the session, to guarantee that ski speed was similar. I video-taped the whole thing, riding a bike alongside. I cut out a lot of it, but I find it fascinating to watch two guys with good fitness and big motors as they hammer along, poking each-others weaknesses and looking for an opening. At the end of the day, it’s just an impressive work rate for a 38 minute (or so) race. It’s good to remember what we’re asking these top-level athletes to do, and it’s a whole lot more than a pass in front of the video camera, or a four minute interval.
